At middle of July, I organized a “Building GM” activity with my fds at the other forum. As this activity got to build a 1/100 GM, I originally targeted on the GM “Spartans” (by using 有 heart 人) only.

However…………… finally I’ve changed my mind as I saw someone post a GM combine with Powered GM and GM Spartan together at HKML ………….!! That’s looking so awesome and smart. And the “Heavy MS” feeling so impressed me as well. (Actually I like pretty much heavy type MS. So generally I like most FA Gundam…………… XD)

After a detail investigation and checking, finalizing different resources and references online (from HKML as well!! XD). I want to build my own GM. Its named is

RGM-79PS (Prototype)

Note: PS stand for “Powdered Spartans”

[joking mode] RGM-79PS? Can I have………..RGM-79SS, RGM-79PS2? Or even……….RGM-79Wii!! XD (Actually RGM-79PS (Prototype) can write as RGM-79PSP already…………….hahahaha!!![/joking mode]


Right now I assumed that’s about 40-50% finished (pretty much depends how much I still want to work on that………XD)!! As I’ve did start to work quite a while already, so that I would just post part of the old process at here, and would keep update from now on………!! (As due date is middle of Oct, got to be quick …………. orz!!) Enjoy that.

Just start to build the GM + Spartans Parts.




No modification yet except some weapons and backpack that’s not belong to GM!!!

Found the reference of Powered GM + Spartans Parts online. So tried to build that under similar method. And found that lot of modification got to work on…….!!




After combined those 2 different model of parts, the heavy weight of MS is so impressive.

Very little work started from head. As I want to keep the “head machine gun” on the top of head, finally use the original RGM-79C’s head and adding Spartans parts together.

After finished the head, I got to combine the Powered GM and Spartans breast part together. That’s the main goal of the whole modification as well.

I did a little bit of testing on the breast parts.

Main work on the modification of top armor. It got to cut to fit with the combining of GM top pack.




Openable pilot cover. Although that’s not quite necessary after the modification, I still would prefer to keep this “gimmick”!!

After modified the breast, next part is the shoulders. As that’s a “heavy” MS, the shoulder got to fit the scale of size of the “BIG BREAST”!! XD




Using GP03D’s parts as extra fuel tanks. Seems that the look is ok, just bit too thin………..!!

In order to get the Sniper’s pose, joints modification got to be carried out.




After the legs, waist modification, it seems that a better sniper pose can be put. But I feel that‘s still not enough. More modification should carry out at the waist.

As aiming to get a better sniper pose, first time in the life to do such a big modification…………..!!




After fully modify, the pose is far far better, especially more “natural” to get the angle and direction of the body that I want.

Shoulder shield amendment. The shield got to make longer for matching with the big size of shoulder.

Increase the thickness, also preparing to add more details at the waist front armor.

Another first time, add “movable” (hydraulic type?) joint in Gunpla, fully DIY.




An added “changeable” parts at the top of shoulder for future add-on.

As the breast part increased, also for the future armor adding, The width of the shoulder go to be increased. Finally decided to increase the length of joints to the arms.

Markup, markup and markup. As too much idea in the mind, so got to sketch that out inorder to follow that to work step by step.










Actually still got several amendments that I’ve done already, but I got to take bit of time to write the details………….!! I would post that shortly!!

It's really a big project. I have recently finished the GM Spartan also together with the MG GM Sniper.

Look forward to your final product and I have also waiting "MG GM Version 2.0" too~~~~~

GM ver.2.0, depends. If follow Rx-78 Ver.2, I may not consider to buy so soon!!! I like Ka ver. more actually.............!!

Time to start to add details from top to the bottom, first part would be the neck.




Next part would be the top of backpack. With the reference from one of the Powered GM at HKML, I try to work that out similarly on mine one!!!

From the other reference, the back “fuel tank” (?) should be bigger as well. So that using plastic sheet to increase its thickness.

Thx for the suggestion brother. I won't cut those 2 side much as that's the "most attractive pt" of Powered GM. However...........more details would be added on there. I would work out something at that area, don't worry too much!!!

Started to add details at the breast exhausting parts. The original parts are too thick, I got to make a thinner and more details parts.








Sketch design of details at the back of shank armor. This part may not see that when just standing, but able to see quite clear when getting a “snipper” pose.
