heres my steps~

1 color/ clear coat， personally i like a thick coat of clear coat~ to avoid 磨穿, so i do 2 -3 thin layers then 4-5 heavy coat
2 then generally fron what i heard and experience, i'll let it dry for 2 weeks minimum
3 if theres not too many orange skin, then i just use 2000 sandpaper to flatten the surface, if there orange skin then start with 1500 then follow with 2000, this step will provide a flat surfect for polishing~ （打磨）
4 then i will use the 3 tamiya compound to polish~ fron crose to fine to finishing, after this step u can pretty much see reflection clearly fron the surfece （抛光）

sounds like a easy process, but it takes a lot of heart to achieve a good finish~
just try next time~~ im sure u'll get the hand of it with practice
