I have recently completed my first Revell kit - 1/24 Red bull RB8 which didn't feel so bad , as I thought its gonna be much more difficult to handle than the Japanese kits I usually make.  Of course, there's a bit more work to be done in terms of the body work but its not as bad as I imagined it was .



I will share more photo of the RB8 later on .

Now I'm on to the next kit - McLaren MP4-25 and this time I would like to share the building process with you guys!

First thing first, try and set up the kit and see if everything fits. This is especially important when building Revell kits



The air intake and the F duct are separate parts to the main body. I have seen others keeping it separate and glue them together in the end but it seems the gap is a bit to wide . So I am going to glue them together to make them look more consistent with the cars contour.



The rear light has to be glued after putting in the rear lower suspension which makes the painting process difficult.



Starting with the body, I have deepen the tread.



Glued the lower part together with the main body. Some filling needs to be done.



Glued the air intake and the F duct. Immediately, the gap is smaller but still requires sanding and filling.



Modified the rear light so that the light and the suspension can be painted separately.



Apply filling,



Assembling the engine parts



Sharpening the rear diffuser.



Sanding

Further updates on the progress

Similar to the rear diffuser,  I have sharpened these rear parts to look more aerodynamic.



The front F-duct from the kit has a closed entrance. To make it more realistic, i cut open an opening.







The opening is not quite right as the real one looks like this



So i used a thin plastic plate to create a bottom for the duct





Also added a separator in the air intake which is a missing detail from the kit



The car now is pretty  much ready for painting, just need to have a few more inspections to check for flaws...





I have also drilled holes for placing nuts after painting.





I am planning to use the Gaianotes GP-07 Premium Silver Plate. Just wonder if any Ching have tried this before? I have never tried chrome paint before so I am quite concern how its gonna work out



I hope it will still have that mirror effect after applying the clear coating.

Applied the body paint using the gaianotes GP07 and it looks very good. Before applying the paint a gloss black is needed for the base. This is my first time using this paint and there is definitely room for improvements. The key is to have a very glossy finish for the base so that you will get more of that chrome feeling. Otherwise, if its flat, it will look more like stainless steel.









Then i applied the decals for the body....lots of decal softener







the unfortunate happened........i screwed up the 愛國者 decal..........



I thought i needed to buy another kit but then i went to Samuel decal to make a replacement and i got a PERFECT replacement from him





Thanks to him i have saved myself 250 dollars
