What the difference between normal rubber track and Dragon's DS track?

There is no much information provided in the instruction sheet, and Dragon's website also.

you can't glue the conventional rubber track together using plastic model cement but you can do so with the DS track.

Besides most Tamiya kits' rubber tracks could also glue together with plastic model cement.

If this is all about it, then it is nothing special.

I never able to glue the Tamiya rubber with plastic model cement. Maybe you have some special cement that I am not aware of. Yes it's nothing special about  the DS track and sometimes the detail can be terrible with flash all around and difficult to clean up....

There nothing special in gluing Tamiya's rubber track with plastic model cement, just make sure you are using Tamiya's plastic model cement.
Anyway for the Dragon's DS tracks, I was told that you have to use CA glue to glue, and paint only with Acrylic paints. And never ever wash it with enamel paints. (I guess Artist Oils too). Working with Dragon's DS tracks is like...

Maybe the newer Tamiya rubber tracks can be glued with regular plastic model glue. I haven't built any Tamiya new kit lately and I believe the instruction will   indicate. You will need CA glue on the old rubber track but still easy to break off.

For DS I used plastic model cement and worked fine. I never have a problem with with enamel wash though but I used Gaia or Mr.Hobby steel (mixed with      brown) as base coat. Of course on top of the primer. Not really that difficult until the quality issue started to appear in the last few years. You can do a little     test on the unassembled track and see if the paint falls off based on what you were being told.

What I was being told is the DS track fall apart after contact with the thinned enamel used in performing the wash...

For order Tamiya's rubber track you have to heat the pin at the junction the flatten them, in order to join the track.

我見外國FB群組有人話DS tracks用油性油會分解，甚至粉碎。我諗佢地都係用雙星油性油加X20 thinner, 而DS track 膠質應該係類似Bandai 高達模型膠質。長時間接觸高濃度X20,有機會成條DS Track解體。噴、油、舊化最好用返雙星油性油以外油漆最安全。至於pigment舊化, 就改用pigment bonder 代替enamel thinner, 再噴消光。
